Dr Daniel K. Katambo, MBChB, MPH, MRCP London (UK).
Iam an experienced physician with expertise in lifestyle Prevention and Management of Non Communicable Diseases (NCD’s) with special interest in weight loss management and Reversal of type 2 Diabetes. I am actively involved in implementation of Diabetes Reversal Programme (DRP) for people living with Type 2 Diabetes.
I qualified from University of Nairobi Medical School in 2006. I then worked as an intern at Nakuru PGH, before working as a Medical Officer in both Government, Mission and Private Hospitals.
In 2010, I joined University of Nairobi School of Public Health, and graduated with a Master’s degree in Public Health (Epidemiology and Bio-statistics) in 2012.
In 2013, I was ready for a new challenge, I moved to Bermuda, and worked at Bermuda Hospital Board as a house officer till 2015.
In early 2016, I spent a few months in the United States before returning to Bermuda and worked in the community till my return to Kenya 2019.
In 2017, I met Dr David Cavan, a Diabetes physician, Endocrinologist and Author of four books on Diabetes self-management. I trained on Diabetes remission and was involved in establishment of the first Bermuda Diabetes Reversal Program.
Following the success of the Program in Bermuda, I moved back in Kenya (Jan 2019) to establish the Kenya Diabetes Reversal Program.
I am now based in Nairobi, 5th Medical and Day Surgery Located at 5th Avenue Suites Building opposite traffic police station. Am also the current Principal Investigator (PI) of the ongoing Diabetes Reversal Program (Study) at Nairobi Hospital and Diabetes Management and Information Centre (DMI).
My goal is to work closely with individuals living with diabetes and other stakeholders in reducing the impact of the disease not only in Kenya, Africa but also globally.
